Timber Frame Home



 
ASL has designed several custom homes in the Michigan area and other states. This particular home was influenced by the natural beauty of timber and its strength to support the structure. With the use of the organic, natural material it connects the interior with its surrounding environment and also makes the home environmentally friendly. The impressive living space is accented by the beautiful wood cathedral ceilings and large windows. The space feels very luxurious and comfortable, and with the grand cathedral ceiling, it definitely creates interest and inspire the people in the space.

    For some reason, when I first read the bibliography of ASL Design Studio, I was expecting some innovative architectural designs with glass, metal, and over the top structures. But this is opposite of my initial impression of their company. It is beautiful inside with the use of natural wood to create that cozy warm feeling. But... it's nothing new. There has been so many designs like this especially the exterior of the building. There's no real "wow" factor.

    The ASL team is so versatile! They can create so many different styles. What is the founder, Brad's job in all of these projects? Is he the one who determines what direction they will take in the design process?
